Tech Disability Project elevates people with disabilities in the tech industry through community and representation.

For National Disability Employment Awareness Month each October, Tech Disability Project runs an industrywide campaign to increase representation of tech founders and employees with disabilities. Through hosting community events and publishing first person narratives, TDP aims to increase the visibility of our community and broaden access within the industry.

2020: Disability United - Community Mixer & Survey

For our 2020 campaign, Tech Disability Project launched two initiatives to unite the tech professionals with disabilities: a Community Mixer and a Survey.

Our first virtual community mixer featured 13 facilitated, small group discussions around topics related to disability inclusion. Thanks to Adobe and Mixpanel for partnering with us to make our Community Mixer possible and accessible.

We’ve also hosted a survey to better understand our members’ experiences - stay tuned for more information about the results. Thanks to everyone who participated!

2018: Tech Disability Project Medium Publication

For our first campaign, Tech Disability Project launched a Medium publication featuring stories by tech employees with disabilities. As we seek to understand what disability inclusion looks like and how we can increase disability employment, it’s important to start with the real life experiences of people with disabilities.

“If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time…But if you have come here because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.”
